The Gamma-Scout hand-held radiation detector or geiger counter is a general purpose survey meter for measuring and detecting ionizing radiation. It can detect alpha, beta, gamma and x-ray radiation.

You can use the Gamma-Scout radiation detector to:

  •  Determine the source of radiation leakages
  •  Monitor ambient radiation anomalies
  •  Monitor personal cumulative dose exposure
  •  Detect radioactive elements in metal scrap
  •  Check rocks from the earth for radioactivity

Simple measurement: In the measuring mode, the current dose rate (a measure of the ionizing radiation) or the average value of the dose rate of the last day is briefly displayed every 2 seconds (0:00 - 23:59).

Patented energy saving concept:
The GAMMA-SCOUT monitors the radiation day and night and saves the values for later reading. Thanks to sophisticated, patented electronics, the battery will last for years. The model RECHARGEABLE works with battery. When connected to the PC, the device is supplied with power via the USB interface - this protects the battery or charges the battery.

Measures a- radiation:
Thanks to a high-quality LND end window counter tube, the GAMMA-SCOUT measures not only a- but also and radiation .

Large measuring range:
According to the calibration, the GAMMA-SCOUT reliably measures over a wide range (0.1 up to 1,000 micro vert / h). The measuring range of the counter tube is much larger, but the device is calibrated with the specified accuracy.

Tested calibration:
Each GAMMA SCOUT meter undergoes a final inspection, which is monitored by the Radiation Institute of a state university of applied sciences. The specimens must lie in the confidence interval of 5% against a master, which in turn was compared to a tested Cs 137 emitter and the ODL.

Dose rate and dose:
GAMMA-SCOUT is also a dosimeter (cumulative radiation over time).

Data storage:
The GAMMA-SCOUT stores pulses that have occurred at various adjustable time intervals (up to 32,000 measured values). For permanent monitoring, the storage of the environmental values ??is set to a value every 2 hours, which would correspond to a recording period of 7 years.

Data readout via Microsoft WINDOWS
The stored values can be read out and evaluated using the enclosed TOOLBOX software under Microsoft Windows (WIN 7 up to WIN 10).

Data readout via MAC OS X
The stored values ??can be read out and evaluated under MAC OS X using the enclosed Gamma-Scout READER software.

Flexible display:
The indication on the display can be in Sievert or Rem.

Allowed on flights:
The GAMMA-SCOUT (R) can be carried on board aircraft.

Certification:
The GAMMA-SCOUT (R) complies with part 15 of the US FCC rules.

Source isotope not equal to CS 137
The conversion of pulses per time into dose rate starts from the Cs 137. In the event that other isotopes are present, one can directly display the pulses per time and convert them to their own tables.
